STRESS

Description

`Stress` is a natural response - a bodily perception of `threat` to its function, but when it overloads itself...it wreaks havoc!
It is known singularly as the greatest cause of ill health in todays society.

Everyone, everywhere experiences good and bad stress, whether it be a crying childs stamping feet, or an adult joining a bungee jump activity.

The effects of good and bad stress

Moderate amounts of stress are natural, therefore must be healthy for as long as it maintains its balance. Too much stress will inevitably agitate biological and psychological chemistry, resulting in a characterised overload of emotions such as anxiety, tensions, depressions, aggressions and so on.
Severe or chronic stress can prove detrimental to the body`s system, due to the uncontrolled release of toxins - resulting in the depression of the immune system.

Areas affected by stress are never specific, therefore manifest themselves either through biological or psychological responses.
Symptoms vary tremendously through behavioural characterised patterns ranging from aggression, impatience, preoccupation, low mental or physical energy, frustration, depression, anti-socialism etc.

Treatment

There are many forms of treatment available, and `stress` is by no means a one way road. Stress can be managed quickly and successfully if it is not too late.
Aromatherapy has proved to be an excellent remedy for stress management, this is highly due to the anti-stress properties contained within the essential oils.
Treatments vary from natural exersise, yoga, herbal therapy, acupuncture, bach flower remedy, reflexology, hypnotherapy, behavioural therapy, naturopathy, homeopathy, psychotherapy or tranquillisers if sever.

Prevention and Conclusion

Stress is unavoidable - unless it is known to occur through a habitual pattern.
If you can't prevent stressful situations or circumstances from arising - the answer has to be `change`.

Change the way you handle your behaviour, try a new approach - a different tactic, a different solution, a new attitude! Instead of screaming at a situation - try laughing it off or approach it in a kind, considerate and humourous manner.
Spring clean your attitude, and your behavioural responses will soon follow and become automatic. It really is as simple as that!
