ESSENTIAL OILS NEVER TO BE USED
If you ever manage to stumble across the essential oils listed and highlighted below DO NOT use them. They are highly toxic! Never to be used in Aromatherapy.
Ajown, Almond (bitter), Anise star, Arnica, Birch (sweet), Boldo leaf, Broom spanish, Buchu, Calamus, Camphor (brown or yellow), Cassia, Chevril, Deertongue, Elecampane, Fennel (bitter), Horseradish, Jaborandi leaf, Melilotus, Mugwort, Mustard, Narcissus, Pennyroyal, Pine Dwarf, Rue, Santolina, Sassafras, Savin, Savoury, Southernwood, Tagetes, Tansy, Thuja, Tonka, Turpentine, Wintergreen, Wormseed, Wormwood.
PREGNANCY WARNINGS

During pregnancy, only certain oils are safe enough to be used after the first four months, these will be discussed later.

Caution, avoid the use of all herb oils.
Do not use any of the opposite oils.

Angelica, Aniseed, Basil, Birch (white), Calamintha, Cedarwood, Celery (seed), Citronella, Clary Sage, Clove,Cumin, Cypress, Geranium, Fennel, Hyssop, Jasmine, Juniper, Laurel, Lovage, Marjarom, Myrrh, Nutmeg, Parsley, Rosemary, Sage, Snakeroot
EPILEPSY
You must never attempt to treat anyone with epilepsy, unless they have a doctors note to say it is okay. Basil, Cinnamon, Citronella, Clove, Fennel, Hyssop, Juniper, Lavender, Marjoram, Myrrh, Peppermint, Rosemary, Sage, Thyme
CHILDREN
When treating children, depending on the age of the child certain oils must only be used. Avoid all essential oils, except the highly recommended oils that are suggested.
The chosen essential oils for children will be discussed further into the course.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

The essential oils that are highlighted in red are not suitable for aromatherapy and therefore should be avoided.
They are not readily available in the UK, this information has been provided from a published scientific journal for health and safety awareness.

If common essential oils are used correctly, there shouldn`t be any complications whatsoever.

Should you ever experience any complications, you should refer to the first aid procedures concerning essential oils, then seek medical guidance where necessary.
